Zero tickets (on purpose)
Wednesday, October 28, the Homemade Options oven served zero trades. Ben says it might be his favorite day so far.
Here's why. The oven runs every trading day at 3:00 PM ET. It prices call debit spreads on the tickers at a fresh 20-day high, and it serves one only when it's on sale: 43¢ or less for every $1 the trade can pay.
On the 28th, nothing was on sale. So nothing was served.
The next day? Three tickets, all on sale: XLB at 26¢, XLU at 35¢, XLF at 36¢.
That's the discipline. A kitchen that always serves something is a kitchen that sometimes serves you full price. We don't force a trade just to give you something to do. That's the whole point of a price tag.
And on a shut day, your routine takes zero minutes. A closed day is the 43¢ Rule doing its job.
Homemade Options opens Monday. The First Batch gets in first, Monday at 9:30 AM ET. Everyone else waits until Tuesday. It's free to join, and there's nothing to buy.

P.S. Tomorrow morning: what a 3:00 PM ticket looks like, line by line.
